Slippery Elm (Ulmus Fulva/Rubra) is the bark of a tree which is native to North America. When taken internally, this supplement is a powerful healing agent and is effective for numerous Gastro Intestinal conditions. The bark contains mucilage and tannins which coats, sooths and protects the entire digestive system. These compounds contain strong anti-inflammatory properties and quickly calm stomach distress.

Slippery Elm is an excellent treatment for both diarrhea and constipation. Provide S.E. for relief from Irritable bowel and Inflammatory bowel conditions. S.E. soothes the respiratory passages and will provide relief from bronchitis and kennel cough.

Slippery Elm can be mixed with water and used topically as a paste to treat hot spots, burns and abscesses.
Slippery Elm is safe for use during pregnancy and lactation.

Directions for Use

Slippery Elm Tea:
In a saucepan, mix 1 rounded teaspoon of Slippery Elm (5 ml) into 8 oz. (236 ml) cold water. Bring the liquid to a simmer for 5-10 minutes. Cool the mixture and store in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid in the refrigerator for up to seven days. S.E can be mixed in with regular food, yogurt, cottage cheese, honey or broth.
Ideally the “tea” will be provided four times per day as needed. If the G.I symptoms reoccur when treatment has ended seek veterinary care.

Dose

Dogs under 25lb (under 11 kg): 1-2 Tablespoons of Tea
Dogs 25-50lb ( 12- 22kg): 2-4 Tablespoons of Tea
Dogs 50 lbs ( 23kg and larger )and larger: ¼- ½ cup
